About Me

My passion for building started when I was 16. I attended a Building Trades program in high school and immediately fell in love with crafting things with my own hands. From the precision and detail of carpentry to the technical components of electrical and plumbing work, I found pleasure and passion in creating beautiful and useful living spaces.

When I was 41, I took a hiatus from working a 9-to-5 job and in 2014 earned my Bachelor of Science in Geology at NC State. After this mid-life retrospection and self development, I decided the city life didn’t feel authentic anymore. Ever the adventurer, I sold nearly all my things, bought an RV and traveled the country for 8 months visiting and hiking state and national parks.

After my travels, I found the perfect 7 acres with an amazing view of Buffalo Mountain here in Floyd Co. I longed for a slower and simpler life in which to share my passion for building artistic, modest, efficient homes for folks who want to live naturally with just the things they really need. It feels so authentic to build and repair the homes of the folks in my community. I sincerely enjoy spending my day helping my neighbors find their Utopia and relieve some of the pressures of life.
